Crystal Creek — Privacy Policy

This is the Privacy Policy for the Crystal Creek application ("the App"). It explains what information Crystal Creek collects, how that information is used and protected, and the choices and rights you have. Please read it carefully. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Introduction

Crystal Creek ("Crystal Creek", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our users.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you access or use the Crystal Creek application ("the App").

Crystal Creek is designed with privacy considerations in mind and seeks to minimise unnecessary collection of personal information. We do not collect or store private user-generated content where such content is designed to remain locally stored on the user's device.

Crystal Creek is responsible for determining how personal information is handled in connection with the App and acts as the relevant privacy entity for users of Crystal Creek. Users should avoid entering highly sensitive personal information into locally stored content.

Where an email address has been provided, Crystal Creek may use it to send essential account and service-related communications, such as account issues, security notices, and important changes to the App. These are not promotional and are sent to all account holders.

Separately, and only where a user has expressly opted in at sign-up, Crystal Creek may send occasional promotional communications, including news of future releases, show promotion, events, and merchandise. This consent is optional and is not required to use the App or any of its features — the App functions identically whether or not it is given.

Every promotional email includes an unsubscribe link. Users may also withdraw consent or opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting crystalcreekapp@gmail.com.

Users aged 13–17 accessing the App in Non-Account Access Mode do not provide an email address and are never included in any mailing list.

Crystal Creek does not sell personal information.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

Crystal Creek uses selected third-party service providers to support app functionality, analytics, authentication, and operational requirements.

6.1 PostHog Analytics

Crystal Creek uses PostHog as an analytics provider to understand general usage patterns and improve the App.

PostHog processes and stores this information on servers located in the United States. By using the App, users acknowledge that anonymous analytics information is transferred to and stored in the United States.

6.2 Supabase (Account and Mailing List Storage)

Where a user aged 18 or older creates an account, Crystal Creek uses Supabase, a third-party database provider, to store a limited record consisting of: the email address, the subscription status (free, paid, or cancelled), the selected app language, whether promotional consent was given, and the relevant dates.

Names are not stored by Supabase. Diary entries, affirmations, saved places, and all other user-created content are never transmitted to Supabase or to any other server.

6.3 Additional Service Providers

7. Children's Privacy and Age Requirements

Crystal Creek is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

Crystal Creek does not knowingly permit users under 13 to access the App.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information.

7.2 Users Aged 13–17 (Non-Account Access Mode)

If Crystal Creek becomes aware that personal information has been collected unintentionally, contrary to this Privacy Policy, or from a user who is not permitted to provide such information, we will take reasonable steps to:

Crystal Creek takes reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect collected information against unauthorised access, misuse, loss, or disclosure.

Account information is retained for as long as necessary to provide account services or comply with legal obligations.

Where an account deletion request is made, the email address is removed from active use immediately, and all associated personal information is permanently deleted within 45 days, subject to any legal retention requirements. A record that a deletion was performed may be kept for compliance purposes; it contains no personal information.

Locally stored content remains under the control of the user and is not stored by Crystal Creek.

Account Deletion

Users with an account may request deletion of their account and associated personal information by contacting Crystal Creek at crystalcreekapp@gmail.com. Crystal Creek will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal obligations that may require certain information to be retained.

Content stored locally on your device (such as journals, affirmations, and presets) is removed by deleting the App or clearing its data on your device, and is not affected by an account deletion request, as Crystal Creek does not hold that content.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Crystal Creek may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Where changes materially affect the way personal information is collected, used, or disclosed, we may provide notice through appropriate channels, including the App or email communication where applicable.

Continued use of Crystal Creek following publication of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
